Herbalists, and Plant People Of The Earth

♡ plant people who I love and deserve a shoutout

Amira Matas

"A self proclaimed hippie chick at the age of 11, Amira was destined to walk the plant path.  Growing up barefoot in south-east Appalachia a deep rooted respect for the flora and fauna around her was born; as well as the innate desire to help their fellow human. These values ignited in her a life long passion for pursing the intelligence of the green folk and sharing this knowledge with those around her. A dabbler of the green arts, she is a gardener of the human physiology & works closely with local plant allies where her love of wildcrafting most of her medicine flourishes. Along with 5 years of experience under her belt in the horticultural and agricultural realm, Amira is currently participating in a Western Herbalism Clinical internship with the Traditions School of Herbal Studies in St. Pete, FL. You can see more of her plant focused offerings on IG @matas.manus or schedule an appointment at student clinic through Acupuncture & Herbal Therapies."

James

"I am a forager and herbalist in Maine. My herbalism journey started when I got Lyme in 2015 and had to use various herbs to heal myself. I especially like working with wild plants and mushrooms. I also enjoy teaching people how to identify and utilize wild edibles and medicinals."

Ariel Michelle

"Ariel Michelle is the founder of Skin Within.co. She started the brand out of her own need and desire for deep healing. Ariel is a practicing health coach in Tampa, Florida. Most of her days are spent furiously reading health research papers & playing with her dog Luna. Her passion for health and love for skincare runs deep. It was apparent to her that the skin care industry had it all wrong. They were trying to heal skin conditions from the outside, and while that has proven to be mildly effective, Ariel knew that true beauty came from Within."

Ava Marie Klein Apiana Apothecary

"My roots are in the Celtic Isles, Germany, and Czech Republic. I grew up in Newbury Park on Chumash land where I grew strong relationships to the chaparral landscape and ocean kin. My healing work is a tapestry woven from studying biology, Ayurveda, Western herbalism, and Indigenous healing from various traditions across Turtle Island and the so-called Americas. I’m devoted to the path of water, to rekindling ancestral practices, and weaving relationships to all our relations on Earth. In this way I believe we can return to a way that honors our body and the Earth as our extended body. I now live in the center of Italy along the coast, this is where I am wildcrafting my medicines from now. I am dreaming up having a big apothecary and permaculture village here to invite people on this path from all over the world. I sell my herbal medicine, art, and devices to improve your water." Check out Ava's links here!
